In our pre-marriage class, we were told that one of the biggest things couples fight about is money. Mark and I have been working on our budget since the beginning of the year; it’s pretty much been my only new year’s resolution.
It’s not that we fight about money or that we have some big problems, but it definitely isn’t the easiest thing to talk about and work on together. We are two people with the same intention –to save money– but different perspectives on how to do it.
My thought is that if we can figure this out before we get married, then how can it be one of the biggest things we fight about when we are married? Then we can get down to the business of fighting about things like who gets to hold the remote.
